I beleive it is possible to convert the line at the front of the fuel rail with the compression fittings. However, it would have taken a lot more effort on my part in order to get the compression fittings spaced evenly enough so that they could connect together with a -6 to -6 adapter and still fit into the lower intake manifold correctly. In essence, It is possible but very hard. The stock fuel line can hold the pressure, so it isnt a HUGE problem. It also is kinda hidden so it can hardly be seen/and or penetrated by foreign objects.I didn't stick a Q-tip down the hardlines because I was afraid of sawing through it and losing it into the depths of my fuel system. :) It would work well if you were very careful. And even if you did slice it in half, a shop vac might be able to suck it out. Might be a better option :)
